Presents the

2017 Honor Flight Northern Colorado Endurance Ride

Mike neuerburg - Honor Flight 2 (Ault, Colorado)

Mike was born May 28, 1963 in Carroll, Iowa to Glenn and Mary (Halbur) Neuerburg.  He grew up with five sisters and one brother.  Mike’s dad and his four brothers served in the military as well as two uncles on his mom’s side that had lifelong military careers.

After leaving Iowa, Mike and his family moved to Omaha, Nebraska for many years before moving to Greeley in 1976.  He has lived in Northern Colorado since that time.

Mike married Diane Lieuallen December 27, 1999 and they reside in Ault.  Their children and grandchildren are Ashley Leaf and granddaughter LeAnne, Mark (Amanda) Neuerburg and granddaughter Zoey, and Emily Neuerburg.

Mike has always had a love of driving trucks.  He began his lifelong career in the mid 1980’s.  He has hauled cattle, explosives for the mines, anything agricultural, welding supplies and crude oil.  Mike began working for Colorado Crude Carriers in February of 2015.

Mike loves being a grandpa and enjoys camping, boating, fishing, hunting, and most of all riding his Harley.  Mike also volunteers his time to Sleigh Riders Motorcycle Toy Run, Inc., Journey 4 Justice, Inc., and Honor Flight of Northern Colorado.  He and Charley also participate in as many benefit poker runs as possible.

Mike had a few days off the first week of February 2015, and decided to go for a ride and earned his patches for the Bun Burner 1500/36 hour and Saddle Sore 2000/48 hour Iron Butt rides.  Who really does this in the middle of the winter in Colorado?

Mike and Charley met in June of 2012 at which time they became instant buddies and ride together as much as possible.  Mike and Charley have had several eventful rides including a several thousand mile ride in 2014, the Honor Flight Northern Colorado 10,000 mile ride last June; a wicked 4-wheel drive ride to search for (and found) the Vietnam Lost Memorial in the Colorado mountains (another one of their day rides) of which no one in their right mind would attempt on a Harley considering the last 10 miles were on a level 5 forest road; plus all their “you never know day rides” which is why they both keep a dry bag packed with bed rolls and essentials because you just never know about those two……  (Thanks Di, I Love You!)
